Creating a Rope Trivet

We have all seen them! Rope bowls/trivets that you create on your machine and then you can add embroidery - fabric - or other embellishments. Come join Maria show you how to get started -- and just in time for the holidays! Amaze your friends with your new skill.   These items are absolutely stunning.

Maria will be in the store to provide you with a demo - lecture on the right supplies, how to get started, how to keep on going, then you will actually be creating a trivet on your machine with guidance from Maria.     Then we will talk through how to take the next step to embroider on the trivet.   In this class we will not be actually doing the embroidery but you can come to an open embroidery class and we can help you actually do the embroidery.

You will need your machine, foot pedal, and a new sharp needle a new 80-12.   Bring in a natural color thread that will match the cording.   Have a new bobbin ready to go.  Your slide on table is good or if you have an acrylic slide on table that will give you a nice foundation to work with.   Bring a multi-purpose foot as you will be sewing this together using a zig zag stitch.

There is no pattern for this class.  Maria will guide you through it.    The store will have the cord premeasured and ready to go for you to try your trivet.   Come try this technique -- it takes practice, but is beginner friendly.
