Block Mania – Getting to Know Blocks – Series 3 ( March – November)

Do you ever see a favorite quilt pattern and think, “I could never do that”? This class is designed to change that! You’ll learn how to read patterns step by step while creating 16 unique blocks that come together into a stunning, completed quilt.
By the end, you’ll not only have a beautiful quilt to show off, but also the confidence to tackle those patterns you’ve always admired.
This class starts in March and runs through November. With the right skill set, you can join this class at any time, will just have to adjust for the block months that you have missed. This class will meet the first Saturday of each month, but may need to be adjusted for holiday weekends. Two blocks are featured each month which allows you to build your skills.
To successfully complete this class, you must be a confident sewer of a quarter inch seam. This class helps you perfect it, but you must be a comfortable sewer at this skill. The skill set has been rated:
Confident Beginners ready to grow their skills
Intermediate Quilters looking to explore new blocks and techniques
This will be a great way to build your quilting skills, where you get experience in a class environment for creating these blocks, have a great time-sharing tips for improving your sewing skills and cutting skills.

This class is the perfect way to grow your quilting confidence. You’ll gain hands-on experience creating beautiful blocks in a supportive environment, while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow quilters.
Along the way, you’ll:
- Practice sewing and cutting techniques to sharpen your skills
- Learn how to read and follow quilt patterns with ease
- Share tips and tricks with others in a friendly, creative atmosphere
By the end, you’ll not only have a set of new blocks to show off, but also the skills and confidence to tackle more complex patterns in the future.

PAYMENT for this class -- Each month there will be a class fee. This will be set up on a subscription basis. Which means, we will collect a charge card information the first class. Then each month we will charge your card for the class fee. This helps us to help clean up the checkout process and then your spot is guaranteed each month.
What to Bring Each Month:
Fabric Requirements (See attached PDF as we are only using 5 colors. We will discuss fabric for completing the quilt the first day of class.
Machine (if not Bernina, please bring manual, we help with all brands of machines. Don't let you turn down this opportunity to do this class because you don't own a Bernina machine)

Ruler 2 ½ x 12” or 3” x 18” ( or your favorite Stripology rulers)
Fabric marking pen
Magic Wand
Rulers – There may be some very useful rulers that are discussed during the different sessions. These rulers are meant to make your job in creating these different blocks easier. The list above is what to bring each month, Cathy will introduce you to new rulers as you move through the series
When you arrive to the store, we can help you with your machine and supplies. Just pull up parallel to the entry door and an associate will meet you. Then you can park on the east side of the building.
If you have mobility issues, please park in front of the store but at the east or west end.
This is an all-day class so please bring your lunch. We have a fridge for your use and have soda that you can purchase.
Drinks: If you are bringing a drink into the store, it must be in a sealed lid glass with a slide drink closure. If it does not have one, you will be asked to leave your drink in the kitchen area.

| Instructor Bio: | I have been crafting such as cross stitching, crocheting and painting since I was 10 years old. I started quilting about 15 years ago when I wanted to make a housewarming gift for a Habitat for Humanity family. Then I started making quilts for my grandbabies and haven’t stopped since. I want to share my love of quilting and choosing fabric with others who have the desire to learn. |
