Collage Class

Come join the fun in making a fabric collage!  In this class you will learn about the tools for success, collage basics, recognizing details in fabric that add to your design, and making your work unique! Bring your non-quilty/sewy friends - no sewing necessary to make this collage! Only sewing required is when it's finished!

For this class, choose from any of Laura Heine’s "Teeny Tiny" patterns - there are several to choose from – The Teeny Tinys measure approx. 16" x 20".   It is better to begin with a small collage and work your way up to larger ones later.

SKILL LEVEL:  Beginner – no sewing experience is needed for this class.

EXPECTATION:  By the end of the class time, you should have your fabric collage fused and ready to quilt.  Suggestions on how to do the quilting and finishing of your collage will be part of the discussion in this class.    The class fee is for teacher fee only.   See below for the supplies that will be required for this class.

Requirements:    A Laura Heine Pattern - Please come to the shop to purchase your Laura Heine Collage Pattern.    Each pattern will provide the amounts of fabric needed for your chosen design.

Serrated Edge Scissors - Karen Kay Buckley's work very well
#2 Pencil
Large Cutting Mat
Rotary Cutter
Applique pressing mat - Goddess Applique (available at the Sewing Studio)
Silicone Appli-Fuse Mat (17 3/4" x 24")  (Available at the Sewing Studio)
24" wide Steam-A-Seam 2  NOT LITE  2 - 3 yards  Do not substitute other products
HTC Pattern Ease - 1 yard   (Available at the Sewing Studio)
Travel/mini iron and ironing mat
 

NOTE:  THERE IS NO SEWING REQUIRED FOR THIS CLASS.  You do not need to bring a Sewing Machine to class - you will need it later to finish quilting & binding your collage.
