Stitcher's Garden - A 9 month Program to a fabulous quilt

The Stitchers Garden Quilt is quilt construction series where you learn so many great techniques to use in your everyday sewing, while learning your sewing machine along the way too.   Each month you will learn how to use a different sewing machine presser foot and how to use decorative stitches on your machine.   This 9 month series runs from September to May!     When completed, at the largest size it will measure  85” x 93”.

By signing up for this class, you are solidifying your seat and table for this class.     Each month following there will be a teaching fee and you will have to buy the needed feet needed for that month or bring in what you have.      The first month you meet, Maria will guide you through what will happen each month and there will be shopping time to get your background fabric and get started on some Fat Quarter staples to incorporate into your blocks.   While some blocks will use up some fat quarters this is also a quilt that you can grab color choices from your stash.   We hope to see you on September 12th to kick of this fun adventure to learn your machine and to learn so many techniques.

You will be exploring these different techniques through 9 months of this class - techniques include:  machine appliqué, couching, pintucks, circle sewing attachment, ruffler and decorative stitches, as well as quilting with your walking foot.   While the Bernina machine will be used for demonstrating,  it is not a Bernina Exclusive class!

At the first meeting, you will get your entire binder with all the instructions for all 9 months as well as a breakdown of what will be covered each month.    This will allow you to get a jump start on each month for getting your fabric prepped.   The store will create your notebook with all patterns in plastic sleeves is included in your class registration fee that you will pay when you register for this class.    Each month following, the class fee will be for teaching expenses.    All fabric will be in addition to that fee.   The fee due for the first class is $50.00.   Subsequent classes will be $25.00 per session and will be sent through automatically through your credit card.

The first month after meeting with Maria, you will grab 5 yards of background fabric and 3 yards of batting.   In addition, you will determine the palette for your quilt and purchase the fat quarters you need to get your started to be the focal fabric of your quilt.   At the checkout, we will be getting your credit card and each month the teaching fee will be processed automatically through your credit card.    This is a great stash buster project -- you just need some palette colors to get you started.
